March 18, 2016

This is part one of a three part series that we have covered before and one of my fav people reminded me of it again! Check out THESE EASY AMAZING and easy to follow Depth Of Knowledge Rubrics for Reading, Writing and Math! Super easy to implement in your classroom right when we return from Spring Break!

We attended a training yesterday about the system that will replace the benchmarks and SchoolCity and has WAY more information to support your instruction! Whew! More info will be coming through our Assessment Program Managers, Anita and Dalal!

Now that I have you attention, please enjoy an email free Spring Break with family and friends! I cannot wait to hear about all of the fabulous places and things (even if it's just relaxing at home) that you all do! I will be here a few days over break so if you need to come in, please just text me if you need assistance =)
Our fire drill was the BEST one we have ever had (or so I have heard!). I had a student ask where to go if it was passing period or lunch, and here is my response: Go back to the last teacher (on campus) that took attendance. This means that ALL of your students MUST be informed where you will be during evacuation. For example, all of F wing teachers (with the exception of Diaz and Pozzesi) are in front of school. Please make sure students are aware of where your "station" is!!
In addition to DonorsChoose, there is also GoFundMe for teachers! Check out this link on how you can fund a FULL CLASS SET of Chrome Books, a new Apple TV, STEAM Projects, Art Projects, and MORE!  Shout out to Kevin for sending me the first link to publish to parents!

I am sending THIS article again so that maybe, just maybe, we will actually take these ideas and implement them! I know, I know. I am one of the WORST and I am really hoping to take these to heart and DO them!! Read along with me...

Have you checked out our Fish Moments?

BE THERE: Thanks to ANITA for all of her hard work and tireless efforts to jump into this challenge and take it on head on! I truly appreciate you!! Thanks to Dalal for holding the CAASPP training AND sending out a training guide! Fabulous!! Thank you to Don, Pozzesi, Alex, Dave O, and Cristina for helping with the fire drill during prep! Best one we have had! Thanks to Jason for practicing with his class!
PLAY: I love our new shirts! Tell me what the GVMS stands for on the back to get yours...and no, it's not just Green Valley Middle School silly!! :)
